The senior dog and her owner had a touching reunion.
Mitchell County Animal Rescue, Inc. employees responded to a call on July 5 about a scared dog found near a highway. They figured that she‘d escaped because of fireworks the evening before.
A couple found the lost dog hiding underneath the car. The dog was scared and didn’t want to come out of underneath the car. After luring her the couple took the dog home and the next day called Mitchell Region Animal Sanctuary.
When the shelter staff saw the dog they identified her as Fiona who had been missing for a month. Her photos were on the “missing” posters on the shelter’s door. The dog was Fiona as she was identified with a microchip too and it was time to call her owner. The owner excitedly came to the shelter where she had a heart-touching reunion.
