Recently a member of the Costa Rican Jaguar Rescue Center team was on the beach investigating a tip about an injured animal.
When Noelia, a staff member at Jaguar Rescue Center, heard the cry she understood that it was a sloth’s baby cry as their cry is like a whistle.
The rescue team gave the baby some water and time to rest. The baby was weeks old and needed to rest before returning home. The rescue team noticed her mom who was climbing up the tree and didn’t notice that her baby was missing.
The rescuers recorded the cry of the baby and stitched it on loudly so that the mother heard it and climb down. It took 2 hours that the mother sloth to come closer and the rescuers could pass her baby to her. However, it was worth waiting as the mother and baby had a very touching reunion.
