It was great news for almost all the zoos and sanctuaries when a baby is born especially when this baby is an endangered species.
Paradise Wildlife Park, in Hertfordshire, England, had two red endangered pandas named Tilly and Nam Pang. Those pandas were paired as mates as part of a breeding operation. Unfortunately, these two couldn’t have babies at all. And more sadly in June Nam Pang passed away.
After the death of her partner, Tilly was a bit heartbroken and sadly roaming in the Wildlife Park. However, after two weeks, the female panda began to nest. Soon the staff discovered that she was pregnant. After so many years of attempts, the red panda was finally pregnant, unluckily after the death of her male partner.
Soon the cub was born and gave hope to many animal lovers. With the efforts of such parks and international programs, the endangered species may someday disappear and become a usual species. Nowadays there are fewer than 10,000 red pandas left in the wild, threatened by deforestation and the illegal pet trade.
