So now the little girl is safe. She has her own home – an aviary that Nikolai built.
One day an unexpected guest came to the village of Borisov district of Belarus. But the villagers were not frightened by its appearance. After all, the brown bear was quite tiny.
Nikolai Terletsky, who owns a farm in the village, decided to take the baby bear for himself. It turned out to be a girl. Nikolai named her Vasilisa.
It is forbidden to keep animals, listed in the Red Book, at home in Belarus. Therefore, Terletsky turned to various authorities with the animal. There the farmer was told that the wild animal should be released into the woods. Or to put it to sleep.
Nikolai understood that independently Vasilisa will not survive. She is too small to get her own food. The man did not want to hear about the second option, i.e. to put her to sleep.
Then Terletsky began making phone calls to zoos in hopes of placing the animal there. But he was told that they do not take such small animals.
After this failure, Nikolai decided to find Vasilisaβs mother. He and his fellow huntsmen explored the nearby forest. But the adult bear could not be found.
In the end, Terletsky managed to get permission documents that he has the right to keep the wild animal on his farm. So now the little girl is safe. She has her own home β an aviary that Nikolai built.
