When Henry was found with a 46-pound tumor the rescuers were shocked. The poor dog couldn’t even walk because he weighed 118 pounds.
The dog was taken to Newport Beach Animal Control. The animal control officer Valerie Schomburg was shocked and wanted that no other animal would be in that situation.
5 days later, the vet performed a surgery on Henry. The dog felt better right after the surgery and day after day he became stronger and healthier.
When the animal control tried to find new owners for 8-year-old sweetie it turned out that Henry used to be Leonidas and his owner was sentenced to 56 hours of community service and ordered to pay $7,346 in restitution to the Newport Beach Police Department’s Animal Services and the Pick A Pet Foundation for Henry’s veterinary care.
However, Valerie decided to foster him until he would found a new home. But unfortunately, the dog couldn’t live that long. Though the tumor was removed he still had some difficulties and passed away. But Valerie made his last days happier and the dog died in a home and not in teh street.
