This is the best news for pets.
Recently there was a great reform in the state of California. Pet retailers are no longer allowed to sell cats and dogs in pet stores. The law was in power from January 1 and since then only rescued pets from the local shelters can be sold in the stores.
Humane Culture of the United States (HSUS) president and CEO Kitty Block informed The Dodo, “This puts us one huge step closer to the day when puppy mills have nowhere left to sell.”
This was one of the best news. As breeders gave their animals to the stores without any veterinary examination and those who had been sold were not even vaccinated. Besides, the mothers stayed heartbroken after their babies were taken and without being capable again the cruel people started to breed again.
This concerns not only dogs and cats but also rabbits who began to be sold as pets and were in the same poor situation as cats and dogs.
