It appears like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving to a new home. The Kensington Palace released a statement to notify the news. The royal couple has admitted that they are prepared to leave their current palace in London and move to the nation.
Early next year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate to get ready for the expected birth of their first child. Since getting engaged in December of last year, the couple has lived in Nottingham Cottage. Their Royal Highnesses are pleased that their official dwelling will be situated on the grounds of the estate since they think Windsor is a very special place. The announcement stated that Kensington Palace would remain the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official residence.
The home was given to the young couple as a gift by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Its name is Frogmore Cottage, and the Royal Borough of Windsor is where it is located.
According to Darren McGrady, the royal chef who formerly resided right next door in the Stables, “Frogmore Cottage was divided into five distinct homes when I was there.” Since it was administered by Crown properties and funded by the government, there was never a significant overspending on staff housing. The Queen’s backyard is where you are, which is a lovely location but the actual building is very run-down. Anything that required repair would simply be mende; under no circumstances would anything be replaced. The staff quarters were never particularly nice, and as a former employee, I can attest to that. I can only imagine how much work it will take to make them into royal quarters.
For Harry and Meghan, I have no doubt that it will be pieced back together and brought to its previous splendor. But there would definitely need to be a lot of changes made! They could easily construct ten, twelve, or even more bedrooms there, and then add all the extras, like drawing and sitting rooms and even a gym,” he remarked.
